WotLK Beta: Death Knight and the Plaguehounds - 2008-09-09 19:01:05
<<< Previous - WotLK Beta: Taming the Kurken, or Four Kurken Pet Mob! | Next - The Angst of Too Many Games... >>>If you've been wondering why I've not been saying anything about Death Knights it's because of two reasons. One, I haven't gotten out of the starting area that has the long chain of quests, and I want to give my reactions based on the whole thing. And two, I'm totally on the fence about how many of my screenshots to post. I really don't want to spoil the excitement of these quests, and so I already know there are some things I won't tell about. I may be very evil and tease with a screenshot or two but not explain - but I truly don't want to do anything more than reassure everyone that the Death Knight is indeed a class you will at least want to try. The areas and the questgivers are just
that good. So make space now to have room for that Death Knight, as they're not going to give us any more than ten character spaces per server.
More on this fellow if you click the "more" - and yes, there will be a few spoilers. Nothing major, but I will share some humourous quest text.
This is a Scourge Plaguehound. He's a demon, and wanders around the Death Knight starting area Havenshire Farms. While he may look just like
this wolf that's reportedly tamable in a level 77ish instance, this is indeed a demon and thus not tamable. Not to mention the fact that it's only found in this Death Knight starting area, and I don't think other classes can get in here. I mention this because my hunter would totally want to tame this thing, were it possible.
I do love the sky in this area, and the fact that we're in a pumpkin patch. If you love Halloween then again I must repeat - you will want to try the Death Knight. Even if you never want to play the class again - you will want to see these areas, and soak in the lore that the questgivers share.
And speaking of questgivers, here's one of them.
Meet Noth the Plaguebringer! Noth has a bit of an
Alice Cooper thing going with the eyeliner doesn't he? He's also full of attitude about the Death Knights. No huge spoilers in his quest text, which is why I'm sharing it...
Death Knights: not the sharpest tools in the shed! Or according to Noth, anyway. I loved that. Not that his opinion is the one all the other questgivers have, mind you, but that's all I'll say about that.
Meanwhile, on the spoiler front, I'm going to try and always post up before the More a little warning about what I'll be sharing. Because I know there are people trying to avoid some information. If I'm being annoying about this in future posts (or heck, in this one too) do let me know so I can move content/screenshots around.
